This self-published anthology compiles student essays completed throughout the year long program ÒMuseum or Mausoleum?: the framing of art, culture, and neuroplasticityÓ. It is edited by Katie Aymar as a Spring 2012 independent project.
In response to Sherry TurkleÕs "Evocative Objects: Things We Think With" this collection exhibits research and creative writing that has been synthesized in the study of material culture and subjectivity. Students united theory with interrogation of the self by concentrating on an object of personal resonance. Ranging from obscure skeletal remains to a beeswax candle, the collection of things displayed in words showcases a learning community that has grasped the inseparability of emotion and reason, and the implications of our material attachments.
