The information contained in these documents has been developed through practical application of the techniques whilst working with adult students, school children, and special-needs students of all ages.
In preparing the documents I found that the pottery skills needed to produce clay models amounted to thirty basic skills and the rest were merely variations or adaptations of these skills.
We have used air hardening clay in the demonstrations so that clay modelling can be taught and learned without the use of a kiln, however the information applies equally well to standard school clay followed by the firing process.
In the process of teaching pottery to private groups and in schools B & M Potterycrafts have developed literally hundreds of projects based on the techniques outlined and we intend to make them available in the same format as follow-up practical pottery projects which can be used as stand-alone projects or as a library of pottery exercises.
