Franklin H. McColgin was born the last of nine surviving children on the prairie of Oklahoma. He lived through the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression of the 1930s and went on to become a successful World War II pilot. Later, he flew international routes in the glamorous early days of commercial air travel.
He married the love of his lifeÑa beautiful stewardessÑand together they lived a life of love and adventure.
