Three Scenes for String Quartet, a little over three minutes in length, adds to the composerÕs Ôthree scenesÕ series where three, one-minute miniature pieces are presented in series, with the design to capture the modern listenerÕs attention, as well as that of the performersÕ - these modern neoromatic works always in inordinate competition with those pieces with multi-century histories. These sections follow a similar format to FeazelleÕs symphonies with an introductory allegro, a slow and somber middle, and a triple meter conclusion. The use of open strings characterizes parts of the piece, as exemplified in such introduction and conclusion. The piece is FeazelleÕs first after a 7 month writing hiatus, which found the composer frequently using alcohol and sedative antihistimines to sleep, secondary to a turbulent relationship, whilst he spent his days updating his townhouse through various carpentry and light contractor type projects.
