Three Songs After Yeats, originally performed by soprano Anna Dowsley, is a song-cycle setting of three poems by William Butler Yeats. Each poem (first and second 'song of a lady', and 'heart of a woman') deals with a different stage of a 19th century woman's life. From light denial to heartbreaking acceptance, these dramatic songs are a naive examination of humanity's flaws.
