Growing up among the art and objects of many eras provided art dealer David Smernoff fuel for his childhood imagination. The dusty items transported him to a time of Greek gods, Medieval kings or a futuristic astronaut. Antiques became his personal time travel machine.
Leading up to From Here To AntiquityÕs 40th anniversary in January, he has been reflecting on his beginning in the industry he loves. Mounting this new exhibition and catalog, he hope to share one of my favorite aspects of art and antiquesÑtheir history and context in time.
