Tom Thumbing It skits can be developed as an active weekly, semi-monthly or monthly dramatics program with a minimum of preparation, expense, personnel, scripts, and space. It can begin with a small group of boys who have shown interest in dramatic activity at campfires or story telling hours.
There are no scripts in Tom Thumbing It, but scenarios are used. Lines are learned during rehearsals by enacting a scenario written by the boys or the adult leaders. One or two hours of rehearsal of the action from the scenario gives a hoy the feeling of the part and mastery of movements and lines which grow out of the rehearsal.
