Tony is a young man from New England who joined the US Navy during World War II and served on a destroyer in the Pacific Fleet. He was smart, gifted, brave and generous. His bravery won him the Purple Heart and the admiration of his colleagues. After the war, his luck at the gaming tables of Las Vegas allowed him to help his friends realize a life-long dream. He was certainly lucky at cards, but the reader is left to judge his luck at love.
