This dissertation is devoted to top managersÕ presence in the executive suite, power struggles, and their impact on corporate strategies. Each of the three studies highlights discussions prevailing in management research. The first two studies are devoted to explaining the role and impact of the CFO, whereas the third study explores the question of why firms create the CCO function in their upper suite.
