That is why I am beginning this consciousness-raising campaign, working towards a Parliament for Cats. For we are not merely miaow-machines, tender on the tactile; we are not just moggies, four-legged, friendly, furry and cute; we are feline fellahs and fellarinas, guys and dolls with brains, hopes and ambitions. We have our dreams. Mine is for a full parliament of cats, all seats filled after being duly contested, so we can begin the true democratisation of the feline kingdom.
