Tomek, a young gypsy, grows dissatisfied with his existence as a marginalized member of society and attempts to travel to the land of his ancestors. Short on resources, he hitchhikes through Eastern Europe until he finds himself snowed in in a small town in Western Russia. While he finds love and acceptance, he also finds that there is no perfection in the world and that perhaps his idea of home needed to be changed more than his location.
