When Sam finds a pirate stranded in his bathroom, he dreams of a future life with Captain Teabree. A life of being able to eat with no manners at all, of never having to wash or go to school. A life of adventures, treasure and spitting. He could join the Captain on his ship, or maybe the Captain could become his step-dad and live in a house in twenty-first century England.
This is a book full of laughs, but also questions about how we find our place in the world when we don't really fit in very easily.
