"Tub-boats", explores the life of a young boy who lives in a floating village on a lake in Cambodia. He is clever and resourceful as his life close to nature offers up its silent mysteries. He must also live with the other children who are not kind to him because he is different. He has a hole in his lip, a cleft lip.
Miracles happen as the boy is found by a team of mission doctors who repair the lip and change his life.
