The Kasota Prairie is located in Le Sueur County, Mn. It begins around the little village of Kasota and ends near Mankato, largely bordering the Minnesota River. Although it is small in size, it is the home to one of the remaining tall grass prairies in the state and the site of two of the nation's largest limestone and sandstone mining operations. The environmental history ofÊ these seemingly opposing landscapes is discussed in this book.
Bob Douglas is an Emeritus Professor of Geography at Gustavus Adolphus College in St.Peter, MN and for over 40 years has walked and witnessed the changes that have occurred on the Kasota Prairie.
