In order to build analytical, conceptual, and compositional skills for the design studio and professional practice, the seminar examined comparative courtyard typologies and their transformation in works of architecture from the pre-Columbian and colonial era to the present. Projects were paired to facilitate analysis and comparison and the analytical drawings followed basically the same drawing conventions and graphic format.
