U.S. Constitutional Law for German Jurists compares U.S., German, and European constitutional concepts; global constitutionalism. It focuses on the general principle of proportionality (VerhŠltnismŠ§igkeit) and fundamental human rights (Grundrechte) in international legal contexts. The book takes a comparative U.S.-German perspective. Basic concepts are explained with equivalent German legal terminology. It compares concepts and some cases in U.S. law to similar concepts in E.U. law. All basic terms are defined and presented with equivalent German terms. Some materials are presented both in English and in German. The book is intended as an introduction to U.S. constitutional law for German speaking jurists.
