Compiled as a result of practical experience, Understanding Anger gives workers everything needed to run and review a three-day anger management group work programme. It includes over 30 tried and tested activities to encourage young people to recognise and resolve feelings; gain respect for non-aggressive behaviour; maintain healthy relationships and work towards increased school attendance. These accessible activities help workers to sensitively explore complex issues by initiating empathy and trust; encourage sharing of experiences; highlight the negative consequences of aggression and develop methods of self reflection and relaxation.
