The exhibition entitled Violated Bodies: New Languages for Justice and Humanity presents the Silent Tears Project of the artist collective Blur Project, headed by Belinda Mason, the sculpture of Simone Kestelman, and the multimedia work of Debbie Han, aleXsandro Palombo, and Cat Del Buono. Organized by two art historians and art critics based in higher-education institutions, Pyun and Saleeby-Mulligan have addressed socio-political issues encoded in corporal representation in their scholarly essays and pedagogical arenas. Aiming for more artistic and creative approaches to the painful issues surrounding domestic violence in a private environment and its ramifications in a public milieu, this exhibition draws attention to a lesser-known realm of disabled bodies caused by domestic violence in the works of Belinda Mason, Simone Kestelman, Debbie Han, aleXsandro Palombo, and Cat Del Buono.
