The 1875 U.S. Supreme Court decision of the women's suffrage case, Minor vs. Happersett, affirmed that women are citizens of the United States, but that it's up to states to decide what rights woman have. This decision added fuel to the fight for women's suffrage although Virginia Minor did not live long enough to see the eventual victory. In 2014, a bust of Virginia Minor was added to the Hall of Famous Missourians at the Missouri State Capitol. This book details Minor's life and the work it took to get her image installed.
