I never thought IÕd want one of CanonÕs 1D series of pro digital
single-lens reflex cameras. But, OK, I started looking into CanonÕs main pro DSLR line. The main advantage of CanonÕs 1D line is speed. I like to shoot fast, even if IÕm shooting flowers or landscapes. The 8 fps was appealing, butÉ I already had a pro DSLR, several in fact.
I like pro cameras. My first digital photography experience was with a Nikon D1. My favorite film SLR is my pro Canon EOS 1N. Knowing that buying a Canon EOS 1DS was going to give me ÒcolderÓ colors, the 1D Mark II seemed suddenly a viable option. I still was skeptical, butÉ The Canon EOS 1D Mark II rapidly became one of my favorite cameras. I love that great machine gun sound with the shutter button pressed. I love the warm Canon color, the solid feel, the rapid focus.
ThereÕs nothing like a pro DSLR and the 1DMKII is one of the best, least expensive ways to try one. That alone makes it worthwhile
