Wake County was formed in 1771, from the eastern part of Orange County, and from parts of Johnston and Cumberland counties. Wake was reduced a little in size when Durham County was formed in 1881 (from part of Wake and Orange).
Miscellaneous land records are a Òcatch allÓ of land disputes, agreements, surveys, etc. This collection is actually placed in alphabetical order and not date order. Only 1 document from the 18th century survives (although cataloged as undated). INCLUDED in this book is PART OF another box of records dealing with land being sold due to debt or tax issues. In addition to this box of records there are other collections, of which only one of the three boxes of Ejectments is currently planned by this author.
