My parents divorced in 1949 and I was to spend seven years in a ChildrenÕs Care Home. I also spent 3 unhappy years in Wembley with my Father, stepmother and her daughter. At age 16, I started work as a Cadet Nurse which came with my independence. Then at the age of 18, started my training as a Registered Nurse, followed by my midwifery training in 1964. I loved every moment of my life spent in Hospitals as a Nurse followed by my ideal vocation as a Midwife.
