This little book is disguised as the script of a play. But is is not like any other play you have encountered. It is a play that somehow describes its own performance. There is plenty of rollicking fun, songs and poetry, with a grandpa telling stories to his grandchildren. But it has some deep moral and philosophical undertones, and may leave you in deep thought, with a little tear in your eye. It defies categorization, but it is fun to read. The play originated from stories a dad told his children. When the kids grew up, they asked the dad to write down those crazy stories. He wrote them down but they metamorphized into "When I Was Little, I Was Big." It is fun to actually perform as a play or just read aloud or silently.
