This book consists of the responses of a group of staff from the faculty of Development and Society at Sheffield Hallam University to the simple question "Why teach"? There are 6 sections in the book, the first five of which were written over a two day writing retreat, with the sixth section consisting of reflections written a short time afterwards. The titles of the sections were decided upon by the group to reflect the dominant themes within each section.
