Poca Madre Arts is pleased to present ÒWild AbandonÓ, an exhibit featuring five Texas-based abstract painters curated by Austin-based artist and curator Michael Anthony Garc’a.
As we find ourselves more & more frequently at a loss for words in this world, it is the intangible and inexplicable gestures in life that bring us solace and peace. The artists in this exhibition, Gerardo Arellano (Austin), Kel Brown (Austin/Houston), Jonathan Paul Jackson (Houston), Kristy Perez (San Antonio), and Naomi Schlinke (Austin), tackle the ungraspable via abstract painting & create work that is independent from our surrounding reality, speaking to something deeper.
This project is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department.
