Work, relevant at the time and saved for years, now becomes raw material for experimentation and discovery.
It began while editing, sifting through hundreds of paintings and drawings on paper. What to keep and what to toss? Tearing many in half and throwing them on the floor. Then at some point, realizing parts magically came together creating a new and odd visual experience. I started lining the irregular halves down the hall, composing larger animated drawings.
William Flynn has exhibited in Boston, New England, and New York. His work has been featured at the Boston Public Library, deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, Phillips Academy, MassArtÕs Brant Gallery, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
