This is an orchestration of the long-loved Hymn, ÒWonderful Grace of JesusÓ for oboe and orchestra. The work may be performed by Solo Oboe and Piano if no orchestra is available and the flute or violin may substitute for the oboe without any adjustment. The full text is provided in a hymn copy in the back of the volume. The harmonies are refreshing as certain texts referencing manÕs original deprived unregenerate condition are cast in the parallel minor mode reflecting by way of text painting, the sad state of affairs of the unregenerate heart. Variety in tempo and melodic flow is refreshing all leading to a grand close; it is an exciting rendition of the grand old hymn.
