Carter experienced the evolution of semiconductors from the single transistor on a silicon chip to millions of transistors on a chip over the next fifty years. He also participated in the birth of the personal computer industry at Apple Computer, Inc. where he developed a sales team in the new selling environment of personal computer sales outlets.
