Yamaon is a novella, a science fictional story of sorts. It is a story of our future: wormholes, mutants, thinking machines, and the first encounter of humankind with the mystery of a truly alien and highly intelligent mind. It is a story of our past: the global war in whose shadow we grew up, with genocide and ethnic terror, and the long cold war between capitalist and communist overpowers that followed. It is a story of our present: a research institute where scientists meet the challenge of the unknown at the boundaries of the human mind. Written in 2002.
