Yesteryear is a compilation of stories by, for and about the McKinley /Oakes clan during the last century (mostly.)
Our families were military and traveled much of the world, whenever possible dragging their children along; this during an age when travel itself was a lot of fun: Ocean liners, luxury trains, and comfortable leg room with passable food and beverages on airlines Ð although the smoke-filled cabins would today be recognized for the horror which they indeed were then. We were a remarkably lucky lot, and we had some fun!
