I found seven little booklets of once-famous and now rare Yiddish theater song lyrics from Warsaw Poland 1933-1934, compiled by record-store owner Itzik Zhelonek, in the Library of Agudas Chassidei Chabad in Brooklyn, NY.
I spent three years looking for the melodies to these songs (and those in 35 Letste Teatr Lider fun Azazel un Sambatiyon 1929). I have been transcribing and translating them and now they're ready to be enjoyed. I hope the songs will find a new life among performers and mavens of Yiddish song.
